Outside Voices is a community choir led by singer-songwriter David Beckingham, founding member of Juno-nominated indie pop band Hey Ocean!

It’s built on one simple belief: everyone deserves to make music.

You don’t need to read music, have formal training, or even consider yourself a “singer.” 

Too many people have been told by a parent, teacher, or the culture at large that singing is only for the naturally gifted. That message lingers, and it keeps people from one of the most joyful and healing forms of human expression.

At Outside Voices, there are no auditions and no need for perfection. Just people coming together to sing, connect, and grow. We do ask that singers are able to match pitch and adjust when they’re off. Musical training isn’t required but a basic sense of note recognition is necessary in order to blend as a group.
